New York City Subway

I have a thought this morning on my way to work.
Have you “EVER” stop and take in the surroundings in the subway station/platform? The picture is rather revolting. Paint is peeling off the ceiling. Layers of dirt had replaced the color of paint. Water gush out of the wall and roof every time it rains. The floor were never wash, trashcans were full. Not to mention the noise generated by the train grinding on the track, it is unbearably hot in the summer, more like a sauna than subway platform. Huh, please don’t forget our subway pets. We saw those rats walking up and down the track without fear. They provided us with rather exciting entertainments, while we lean half way out into the track to see if we can catch a glimpse of the headlight on the approaching train. Since we cannot afford to provide computerize time clock to let us know how long we have to wait for the next train. We have to settle for the entertainment staring "Rats".

I took rides in many subway systems around the globe, there is none compare to the desolate conditions as the New York City transit system. Other countries take pride on their public transits. Their system may not be as massive and effective as ours, but for the most part is clean. In some countries it is a pleasurable experience to be going underground. I feel like I am in a war zone every time I am there, especially now that there are increasing numbers and visibility of the transit police.

I know upgrade and clean up are all possible, even if it is cosmetic? At least it will make us feel a little better of our transit system, which is a famed NY landmark, instead of a relic of the past technology. Care to comments.
