We all need shoes. We buy shoes. There are shoes stores on almost every block on any major shopping streets or malls in America. Why so many? I finally realize it is “BIG BUSINESS”.
Everyone loves shoes, female especially. Don’t get them close to any shoes department or you will loose them forever. This phenomenon started long before “ Sex in the city”. Fe
I am not sure if this is an obsession or an addiction. Some people I know have shoes for every occasion. Some even have a small collection in their office. Consider the prize of shoes these days. I can only guess that must have cost them a fortune.
A recent visit to a little shoes store in the neighborhood, I saw a pair of multi-purpose “sensible” no thrill casual loafers on the display. When I pick up the pair, I realized there was no price tag anywhere. My internal alarm went off immediately, $$$. I was right. The clerk told me the pair cost $175. Are they insane? It is not dress shoes. May be I am out of touch? A pair of non-branded casual shoes cost that much. How can everyone afford it? I went to the Internet to do research shoes prices. I was shock to learn the cost of shoes these days.
I ran into a friend this morning, he was wearing a pair of sneaker with jacket and jeans, very much in style. During our conversation, he told me that he kept a lot of his shoe in the office, and wear sneakers walking to work, because shoes are expensive. He just proves my point. Shoes are unaffordable.
Shoes are important for New Yorkers; we wore out our shoes more often than others live in city require lots of driving. We need affordable practical shoes. At these prices, I suppose my other alternative is to have my old shoes repairs more often. I am sure I will wear my pair of old faithful, until my foot touches the ground. On the other hand, if you know where the bargain shoes are. Please share it with everyone.
