Another Added Insults To New Yorkers

I am talking about he New York Cabbie ripping off passengers. First the MTA raised their fare, and then now the Yellow cab scandal. I suppose it is time to take out the bike, and make the city bike friendly like some European cities, even big city like Chicago.

Although New York City Taxis are expensive, but they are a part of New York City, I can’t imagine walking down the street with the absent of the yellow cabs. Granted they are not the most efficient transportation, especially when you try to cross down during the week in a hurry, it is much faster taking the subway. Never the less, they are part of the institution that makes NY, the NY.

Most of us a loyal customers, we hail a cab at least a couple of times a week. It really annoys me that after the all their fare hike, threaten us with strikes, make us pay for jumping meters while their taxi stuck in traffic. The Cabbie repaid their most loyal customer with this scam? Where is their union on this issue now? I have not heard a word from them. I think they should “ ALL” be prosecuted. I am one mad New Yorker.

I believe that most passengers are honest and good nature, and very tolerance to their crude behavior. Cabbies are often on the cell phone while driving, they took whatever the longest route to your destination as they pleased, and we even willing to put up with their latest scheme on share cabs without a fight. After all these abuses, we still tip them willingly. Who are we? Morons?

I have no word for their dishonesty. I thought it was an isolated incidence when the news broke, came to find out this is an organized scams later. I am now always looking for the “1” number on the right hand side of the meter, to make sure I am not being taken for a “ride” before I pay the bill. As for the announcement last night the city is trying to make the Cab companies find and reimburses those passengers that pays their fare with credit cards, for the thousands of us that pay cash, we are out of luck. That is a stupid proposal. I would rather makes all that involved do 6 months community service, go stand in front of groups to admitted their dishonesty. That is a better justice than just a $5.00 refund.
