More hike on the subway.

What is wrong with this picture here with the public transport system in NYC?

We are being held hostage here. There is talk on the news of another rate hike this coming summer or next year. Didn’t we just have our fare increased to $2.25 per ride? It seems to me that this will never end. Cost increase is inevitable in the real world due to inflation, however there ought to be some ways that MTA in NYC can turn a profit.

The most obvious solution is to clean up the station and start selling ad spaces. What about adopt a station or a car. In that case you can cut maintenance cost, cleaner station and may even turn a profit, up grade the technology, give us a count down clock that we desperately needed.

Fare increase is only lead to reduce ridership. If I can save $0.50-$0.75 every time I take a walk for a couple of blocks to my next destination. I will. Get some exercise into it at the same time.

Therefore if the MTA don’t stop this nonsense, and look for a real solution, you are hanging yourself by the neck. Fare hike, Bridge tolls etc are not permanence solution. Fare and taxing hike in general is never a good idea. Is the Boston tea party lesson not in your textbook? Frustrated.
