As Valentine’s Day approaching, can’t help but wonder what happen to my Valentine. It was a non-subject while I was younger. On the other hand, can’t blame anyone but myself, I was most readily to give up a relationship for career move regardless thru the years.
These days however, I saw friends are happily married. May be it is about time to take the subject more seriously. I don’t meant marriage, just “A” steady friend that “Lives” in the same city?
Dating is never easy. It is not about I can’t charm my way into a date, nor making a commitment, nor I am chop liver material at the bottom of the heap. It is the up keep afterward. It seems easy enough to say that I will make time if it is important in my life. May be that was never a priority? Because my excuse is that I am too busy and have better things to do. I still denied that as a commitment issue. Rather. I have not met my true soul mate.
Recently I had this crazy idea of participating in a speed dating. I never took this approach seriously. If I cannot meet one person out of the hundreds that I met in a month, what in the world I can meet one in just about 8 dates at 5 minutes of conversation each. Never the less I sign up, and invited other friends to join me for support. It was actually fun. I did not make a match, but I actually made an interesting friend. Will I do it again? You bet I will. The excitement of anticipation alone is worth the trouble.
There you have it. Just another spontaneous thing that I do in the city, with no expectation, I will never be disappointed. Oh God. Please send me one date. Keep smiling.
