I am back after the absences of a few days. On this bitter cold weekend, I had some relaxing time to watch the tube, and come across a very interesting quote:
“ Some people are content staying in one place in an existence of a living dead, while others spend their life traveling in search of life.” This may not be the exact quote from Marco Polo, but that is his philosophy while writing his memoir of his journey.
Our travel makes a lot easier these days; it is hard to imagine a lot of us have no interests of traveling far to enrich our understanding of other cultures still. You may argue that we are armchair travelers; we can see the world in the comfort of our own home. Unless I am home bound with no alternatives, I can never stop traveling, a passion that I had since childhood. Besides being in a real place to touch and to feel a certain place can never be replace by virtual reality.
I have never read the journal of Marco Polo; it is on my reading list. I hope I will get to it in the very near future.
Get out and travel.
