A believer of Video Communications

Thanks to the ever inventiveness Internet technologies, we are by far the more connected generation ever incident does happens along the way during the expansion pain. I remember when I had my first digital cell phone, I got sold on the concept that I can connect with anyone from anywhere, except the minor detail that the other person must have a cell phone as well. Therefore I paid for the plan and the phone and called no one.

These day however we have more options to connect with friends and family than just cell calls. I am not talking about chat rooms, face book, twitters, or even text messaging. I especially dislike text messaging.

Some of these people are obsesses with texting. They may arrive early for an appointment, they text you. They lost you in the store, they text you, or perhaps they got stuck in traffic they text you. For the time being you have to open up their message, read it, just by chance a car might hit you dead while reading their message. I bet they will text you while you are in the emergency room. Very annoying. I usually ignore them. My plan does not cover text message, my solution soon is to sign up for reverse payment plan in the near future, make them pay when they text me. Clever am I?

I am interested in more direct communications, a phone call I can actually hear your voice, or better yet, video communication like Skype. Video communications came a long way. It was cost prohibited in the past, not to mention burry pictures and time delay. That all changed with Skype. It allows me actually see the person of interests, doesn’t matter if the other party live on a different state or the other side of the world. Romance can also blossom. I wouldn’t get too carry away with that. On the other side of the coin is that you can also get into trouble with friends; for example being a good friend you think no harm in dish out diet advice or let your friends know they need a better rest. Never the less, there are ways around it, but that will be subject for another blog later.

If you have not try Skype, you should. If you used Skype, share your story
