So many of us are using cell phone to text our friends. I am not sure that is because we wanted a message send but not care to talk to your friend? Or some other unknown reasons?
Text messaging started with the Japanese in the mid 90’s, then the generation “Z” finally catches on, and the rest of the population just follows. I am annoyed by the 10 to 15 text messages getting per day. Not to mention when some one decided to start a conversation thru text messaging. As a receiver of the text message, I am obligate to answer the phone, read the message and text back. Even if I don’t want to, why can’t we have a normal conversation, isn’t that is what the cell phone is for?
Some may argue that text message is the best way to send a message without disturbing the receiver? Please don’t insult my intelligent; I know when is the inappropriate time to have my cell phone on. It is really not anyone’s concern. Besides texting does not makes you “COOL”, especially when you hitting the key pad at snail pace, it only tell us how old you are.
On the other hand do you realize text messaging is not a free service? You may think it is cover under your monthly contract; the fact is you have to pay for the privilege. If you’re basic mobile contract does not cover text messaging. You will then have to pay for every single calls, both incoming and out going.
Since I am not willing to pay to subscribe to the service, so my friends can send me useless information’s; and most mobile carrier will not offer the option to charge the sender for the message they send, my solution is to terminate the service of text messaging altogether. My friend can leave me voice mail, as it was design to do in the first place. Along the way I save a few dollars enough for popcorn and a movie. That alone is no pocket change. Amazing isn’t it?
So, there you have it. I was frustrated and I took action, now I got back the control of my mobile phone back. You may share my view and you may not. It is only my opinion, does not reflects yours. However if any one tries to reach me by way of text messaging, they will be out of luck.
